Refund Policy
This applies to every booking with Taprobane Walk (Pvt) Ltd. The short version: if you cancel, your money becomes travel credit rather than disappearing. If we cancel, you get your money back.
1. Deposits and payments
Deposits and payments are not refundable as cash. The moment you pay, we commit that money — deposits go out to hold your rooms and your vehicle, and those commitments are what stop the trip being a list of intentions. Once they are made we cannot pull them back.
That does not mean the money is gone. See below.
2. If you cancel
Everything you have paid converts to a travel credit, less any supplier costs we cannot recover — a non-refundable hotel deposit, a paid park permit, a booked train seat.
We will show you that breakdown. Line by line: what was paid, to whom, what came back, and what is left as credit. You should not have to take our word for the number.
3. How the credit works
- You have 24 months from the date you cancel to book the next trip. Booking is the deadline, not travelling — the journey itself can fall outside that window. Book in month twenty-three and travel the following year if that is when the month works for you.
- It can be transferred once. Give it to family, to friends, to anyone at all — they do not need to have been on the original booking. Whoever receives it can use it, but cannot pass it on again.
- It applies against a future journey with us.
- If the new trip costs more, the difference is payable.
- If it costs less, the remainder stays on the balance and can be used again until it expires.
- If the rebooked trip is cancelled as well, the credit converts again on these same terms — but the 24 months still runs from the first cancellation. It does not start over.
- It is held in the currency you paid in. If a future trip is quoted in a different one, we convert at the point of booking, at the rate we quote you then.
4. If we cancel
You get your money back in cash, not credit. This applies if we cancel your trip, or if it becomes impossible to run through extraordinary circumstances.
By extraordinary circumstances we mean:
- UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office advice against travel to the area your trip goes to
- Natural disaster
- A serious security risk
- A significant health risk that makes the journey impossible
One site, park or hotel becoming unavailable is not extraordinary circumstances. We route around it, at no cost to you — that is the job. Yala closed Blocks 1 and 2 from 14 September to 15 October 2026; a trip built around those weeks gets rebuilt, not refunded.
Section 2 does not apply here. You are not obliged to accept credit, and we will not offer it as a substitute for a refund you are owed.
5. How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method, and are processed within 14 working days, subject to bank and payment gateway timelines.
6. Insurance
Travel credit is not the same as being made whole, and it is not a substitute for insurance. Take out a policy when you pay your deposit, not the week before you fly — cancelling for a reason your insurer covers is the difference between a claim and a credit note.
